| Young Legal Aid Lawyers are a group of over 1000 lawyers committed to legal aid work. The group includes those studying and training and recently qualified barristers and solicitors up to 10 years post-qualification. YLAL supports those entering the legal aid profession and campaigns against legal aid cuts. They fi rmly believe in quality representation and access to justice for individuals otherwise unable to afford it. YLAL members campaign on many fronts including: responding to all relevant LSC and MoJ consultations; hosting an annual "question time" event; providing regular articles for legal and national press; monitoring the impact of new proposals; and co-organising the new All Party Parliamentary Group with LAPG. A representative from YLAL attends LAPG committee meetings. YLAL offers a mentoring service for law students and junior lawyers and provides training events.
